3 Ways to Spot A Fake White Card Training Course in Victoria

White Card Training Course In Victoria

Construction induction training card, or as it is commonly known, the white card, is an essential document you must have if you are related to the construction industry. This safety education training aims to reduce workplace-related accidents and injuries in the construction industry. Every state in Australia has designated training centres where people who wish to join this industry can undergo training and apply for this card after a successful examination. However, there are fake training courses that aim to take your hard-earned money in Victoria that you need to be aware of. If you undergo training from such a place, your training will not be recognized, and you won’t get your white card. Hence when looking for training courses and institutes, you need to look out for these signs to make sure you are not undergoing training in a fake one!

To start with, first, check the website of the institute thoroughly. A simple website will mention that it is a nationally accredited unit; look for this registration number CPCCWHS1001. Second, check whether the company providing the training is an RTO or Registered Training Organisation. An RTO company will have all the details like their ABN, RTO number, contact number, office address, etc. If this vital information is lacking from the course provider’s website, then it is fake, and you should not engage with them anymore. Lastly, check if there are clear mentions of whether WorkSafe VIC approves the courses they offer.

There is a minimum hour that you must train in this course, which is 6 hours. If the courses offered by the website/institution are less than 6 hours, then it is not a legitimate white card training course. In this regard, the charges also matter. On average, the course fees are $150 or more. So, if you find an ad for cheap courses for construction induction cards in Victoria, avoid them. The course fee will never be as low as $30 or $20 as fraudulent courses often advertise.

You can also spot a fake from a real one by seeing how the training will be given. In RTO training courses, you must spend some hours in the office or training site along with online classes. If the course you are going through only has online classes with multiple-choice questions, then it is fake, and you won’t get your card even after the training.
