A white card is proof of completion of the course CPCCWHS1001, known as Prepare to work safely in the Construction Industry by an individual. Anyone associated with the construction industry, be it site managers, surveyors, workers, or supervisors, must have this card before going to a construction area. This card proves that you have the required training and certification to do your job and that you have learned about the risks associated with your profession and know how to prevent them.

Not only workers if you are in the profession of demolition, repair, renovation and maintenance of a structure, you will also need to have this card. The validity of this card is for two years; if you have not visited any or worked in any construction site for more than 2 years, you will need to retake the course and get a new white card.

 

Who can give this training?


There are RTO or Registered Training Organizations under each Australian State and territory. Only such an organization is allowed to give General Construction Induction Training. The training is held through face-to-face classes, tutorials, and video presentations. After the end of the training, the RTO will hold an assessment test. The candidates who successfully pass this assessment get the white card.

 

Where is the white card valid?

Though each State and territory is responsible for issuing the white card within its boundaries, the card is valid for the whole of Australia. The card is generally issued 60 days after your RTO applied for it when you pass their assessment.
